Synopsis
CHASING THE DREAM ®© (Based on a true story)
Phil Sanders is a Canadian baseball coach who desperately wants to live his dream of becoming a baseball scout. Phil’s wife reluctantly lets him leave home for the summer to be a volunteer assistant coach with a collegiate summer league team in small town North Carolina, USA.
Just as Phil thinks his opportunity is only a fading dream, a chance meeting reignites Phil’s pursuit, bringing him one step closer to his ultimate goal of becoming a scout.
As Phil fights for his dream while clashing with the head coach, he becomes a good luck charm for the players. Haynes can’t really send Phil home because he’s superstitious and the players like having Phil around. Haynes, always watching or listening, waiting for Phil to screw up so he can let him have it, allows this awkward situation to continue because all that matters is winning and they win like no team has ever won before!
Phil’s only ally is his wife Amy. Pregnant and alone for two months, Amy is only a phone call away and there to support Phil every time he needs her help.
